Women Leading Digital Transformation in Indonesia

The digital revolution in Indonesia is being shaped by an unexpected force: women. From fintech startups in Jakarta to agri-tech ventures in rural Java, women entrepreneurs and technologists are rewriting the rules of what's possible.

At Ruang Kolaborasi Perempuan, we've had the privilege of witnessing this transformation up close. Our Digital Skills Bootcamp has graduated over 400 women in the past two years, many of whom have gone on to launch their own ventures or secure roles at leading tech companies.

Breaking the Mold

Take Sari, a 28-year-old from Yogyakarta who joined our bootcamp with zero coding experience. Today, she leads a team of developers at a Jakarta-based healthtech startup. "I never thought tech was for me," she says. "RKP showed me that it absolutely is."

Or Dewi, a mother of three from Surabaya who learned digital marketing through our program and grew her batik business from a local market stall to an online store serving customers across Southeast Asia.

Indonesia's digital economy is projected to reach $130 billion by 2025, and women are increasingly at the center of this growth. Studies show that companies with gender-diverse leadership teams outperform their peers by 21% in profitability.

What's Next

The journey is far from over. We're expanding our Digital Skills Bootcamp to three new cities in 2026, with a focus on AI literacy and data analytics — skills that will define the next decade of work.
