Sixty women. One day. The lush hills of Ubud, Bali. Our inaugural Wellness Retreat sold out in 48 hours — and exceeded every expectation. Here's what happened when we gave ourselves permission to pause, breathe, and simply be.
We gathered at 6am in an open-air pavilion overlooking rice terraces, the mist still hanging over the valley. The yoga session led by certified facilitator Nyoman Ayu wasn't about perfecting poses — it was about arriving. Many women later said the moment they moved from the standing stretch to look out over the valley was when they first felt, in months, that they were truly present. One participant, a startup founder from Jakarta, burst into tears during the opening. She later shared: 'I didn't realize how depleted I was until I gave myself permission to stop.'
After breakfast, we gathered for a guided journaling session facilitated by clinical psychologist Dr. Ayu Rahayu. The prompts were deceptively simple: What are you carrying that isn't yours? What would you do if no one was watching? What does rest mean to you? The room fell into deep silence for 40 minutes. When sharing opened, what emerged was both raw and beautiful — stories of perfectionism, of grief, of ambition and exhaustion coexisting. Several women said it was the first time they had ever written honestly about their inner lives.
The afternoon's sound healing session, led by a Balinese healer, was followed by our most intimate activity: the Circle of Sisterhood. Each woman was invited to share one thing she was releasing and one thing she was welcoming. No one was required to speak. But by the end, every single person had. The circle lasted two hours. No one wanted it to end. Several women exchanged numbers and have since formed a small accountability group that meets monthly.
Lunch was a long, relaxed affair — a traditional Balinese feast of plant-based dishes served on banana leaves, eaten together under the shade of frangipanis. The conversations at that table ranged from business strategies to childhood memories to dreams for the future. This is what slowing down looks like: not empty time, but time filled with the right things.
“I've been to countless professional development events. This was the first one that felt like it was for me — the whole me, not just the professional version of me.”
“I cried three times. All three times were good. I left feeling lighter than I have in years.”
“The women I met in Ubud — we still talk every week. We became each other's people in one day. I didn't think that was possible.”
The next Wellness Retreat is being planned for early 2026. Over 120 women are already on the waitlist. Don't miss your spot — register your interest today.
